Learning to Appreciate the Small Things

Lawyering

One afternoon, I walked into the office, feeling unsettled after a discussion with another adviser. As I took my laptop from my bag and placed it on my desk, something caught my eye-a small handmade paper box, stapled at the sides, neatly holding some binder clips.

The day before, I had left those clips in a pile on the desk while working on a due diligence exercise. Without my asking, someone had taken the time to make the box and organise the clips.

It was a simple gesture, but it reminded me of the unseen efforts behind the scenes that support my work. Small acts like these often mean more than we realize. For that, I’m grateful.

Sometimes, it’s the little things that make the biggest impact.
